Project Zodiac is the codename for a side-project I’ve been working on at home for many months now; and like all great movies or games, they start with an idea. Based on the principles of an animation, film, or game production pipeline, the project is still in the pre-production phase and most likely will be for quite sometime, especially considering it’s a one-man project at the moment. This is the sort of project that I want to work on for many years to come, to leave my mark in the entertainment industry in one way or another, be it games, movies, anime, manga, or even novels.
Project Zodiac is a metaseries, sort of like Gundam in anime; it’s got multiple ideas, genres, settings, so on and so forth. The first story is based in a mythology-inspired fantasy genre, while the other is a sci-fi story with some mecha-inspired themes. For now, only production on the fantasy story is going on, with some small ideas for the sci-fi story popping up every once in awhile. Ever since I started the project, i’ve been researching everything that I want included in the stories to an excruciating detail. Being mythology-based, I want authenticity to such a degree that it could quite possibly be one of the most accurate depictions of the myths and legends. Though, overall it still remains a fantasy world that is heavily based on the real world; so far, it’s a world with it’s own nations, religions, populace, animals, creatures, flora & fauna, climate, and other various things; however the world is not complete, it’s only half-finished at best. There’s much work to be done before it can become a living, breathing world. There is a very, very vague story outline written to tie major events together, and the smaller minute details have yet to be written.
